My concept of a good rock concert does not include music as such but the sound of heavy machinery cutting and polishing rare stones.
Last year, I joined design colleague Alex Woogmaster and George Berberi of Port Morris Tile & Marble to find the best marble and onyx for our Boston, Las Vegas and Macau projects.
This rock hunt took us all over from the scenic mountains of Carrara and San Pietro to the coast of Forte dei Marmi. In the footsteps of Michelangelo and centuries of master architects, even the streets are paved in marble.
It is dusty work but filled with beauty and drama.
