Roger’s Strata wallcovering was inspired by a treasured moment of discovery when, as he recounts, “I visually fell into the lush, painterly and almost abstract expression of a man’s ruffled shirtfront in a Frans Hals portrait in a San Francisco collection. Inspired by the depth of the lush texture capture on the thin surface of the Hals portrait, I imagined these textures arranged like layers of geological formations in the desert Southwest where I grew up.”
